which dog should i get a bichon frise or a german shepard?

see i want a bichon frise and my dad and brother wants a german shepard and if you dont know what that is go to google images and type in bichon frises there soo cute thanks bye

I have a Bichon! They are so cute! If you get one from a good breeder that breeds them for temperament and health, then you can get a good one.

Bichons are supposed love people, kids, and other animals according to their description in books and online, but I've seen some mean and snappy Bichons at the dog parks.
My Bichon is funny, playful, friendly, and sweet, he is a great dog! I have a brother who has a german sheppard and he says he wishes he got a dog like mine.

If you want a cuddly funny playful dog then I would go for the Bichon. If you want a protective watchdog then you can go for the sheppard.

Who will have the care of it the most? That's who needs to pick the breed.

those are two completely different breeds… Shepherds need a LOT of training.. and constantly using the training techniques., Please try doing your research first.

We all know what a Bichon Frise is. This sounds like a family decision not something we can tell you. I will say you need to do allot of research before you get any dog. Don't get a dog just because they are "cute"

well that depends if you want a dog that sheds all year long or a dog that is hypoallgenic all year long. the bichon is a high maintenance in the grooming department the gsd is low maintense you just have brush him alot till all the dead hair out . bichons are stubborn and very hard to potty train gsd won't take that long if you are consistent. i have a bichon and it took him till he was the age of two to be fully potty trained. bichon are very Sensitive on how you talk and raise your voice at them. big dogs are easier to potty train then small dogs in my opion. it took my boxer eight months to be fully potty trained and i got her when she was 7 weeks old. i got my bichon when he was 3 months old. and thay are both crate trained.bichons are sweet affection little dogs and good with kids if thay are brought up together i think the same with GSD.just remember big dogs big poops small dogs little poops big dogs big bag of dog food little dog little bag of dog food. when i had just my bichon his food would last 4 months and now i have the boxer i buy dog food once a month for about $50 dollars a month because thy both eat the same food. gsd are good guard dogs and the bichon is to but sometimes the bichon won't bark. my bichon never bark intill i got my boxer. his intire puppy and adult life up intill the age of 2 he never bark even when we were in our condo he would see other people and dogs walk by not one bark would just look and do nothing. bichon are very indepent little dogs as thay get older and that mature around the age of 3. i am not to shure of the gsd you would have to go the akc web sight and compair the two breeds and do your homework on the two and later decide .you can always get the two breeds if you can not make the decion that way
