okay so I need to convince my parents to get my a little Bichon Frise.
What do you know about them? Negatives and Positives ?
Good family dog?
PLEASE HELP
thank you, for the people saying i need to look it up myself on google and for your information i did. But i wanted opinions for people who maybe had one or know a lot about them.
Bichon Frise are wanderfull family dogs. If you have done reaserch as you said, then you propably know that they are social dogs which means that they can not be left alone for more then 3-4 hours. They are expensive my bichon costs wooping $1800 that is just the dog. They can be a little stubborn when it comes to potty training. You will have to get up every 3 hours or so that is including nights, to bring them to the potty, unless you want your house to smell like dog pee. they are great around kids. What kinds of reaserch have you done? Have you read books about dogs, training? Why do you want a bichon? To show it to your friends? To have a companion? Do you understand that the dog will depend on you for food, water, care, attention? Do you know that you can preatty much kiss goodbye to your social life for at least the first year? Do understand the responsability that you will be taking on for next 10+ years? Think about all of these questions before even considering taking on a puppy/dog! But if you feel that you can have a dog, you will never go wrong Bichon Frise. Good luck!!!!

There is this great thing called google, if you’re not responsible to use google to find this information, you’re likely not responsible enough to own a Bichon

My common sense.
They only have 2 negatives, which is grooming and the price for one.
They are great family dogs and are great companions. They are small and not yappy, but they tend to be more of a dog for women (thats their choice not the person). Good luck getting your puppy!=)

I have a 10 yr old Bichon Frise, named Lucky. I got him when I was three, and he’s never once bitten me. Not even my annoying three year old self. (If I were the dog, I would have bitten me)
Positives: Very friendly. Lap dogs. Loves someone to scratch behind his ears, and on his back. Will be your best friend if you get out the blow drier. Like every dog, loves a walk. Very laid back. Loyal. Hyperallerginic(did I spell that right? We picked this breed because my mom is alergic to dog hair. And that leads me into the negitives)
Negitives: Takes a lot of time to groom. Have you ever seen those dog shows, where their hair is so puffy and cute? We just don’t have the time. My dog isn’t puffy, he’s scruffy. After a couple of weeks it gets so bad we take pity on him and cut the CURLY hair out of his eyes. Why does it have to be CURLY? Curly, knotted little kinks everywhere. It takes days to finnally get him looking good again.

The Bichon is a naturally gentle, playful dog. He loves activity and requires regular exercise. His hair grows continually and does not shed, so extensive grooming is a must to prevent mats. Bichons also tend to be a good breed for allergy sufferers.
