That's not too old. And I hope you've searched rescues and shelters before buying one.

Not at all! That's a great age because it makes training much easier with a puppy that's just a bit older. And it won't affect his bonding with you at all.

Please rescue or go to an animal shelter.

14 weeks old is a good age to go home for a puppy. It's not too old, it's basically a perfect age.
Dogs can leave their moms and siblings earlier, but I prefer that a puppy stay with their mom for at least 10 weeks if not a bit more, for proper socialization and rule-learning.
Don't buy from a pet store, because obviously what I just said doesn't apply to a pet store pup who's already been severely deprived of socialization.

Too old for what? 10-12 weeks is the ideal time to bring a small breed home, as far as making sure they've been properly weaned and socialized with their parents and siblings. 14 weeks isn't "too old" for anything, it's a fine age. The idiots who buy/sell 6-8 week olds are creating dogs that are undersocialized and sickly, and generally have eating problems due to abrupt forced weaning.

No, not at all. A lot of people seem to think that 8 weeks is the magic time to collect a pup, but I know of several breeders who don't part with their pups until they are at least ten or eleven weeks old, as they can see what each pup's potential is far better at that age than they can at around six or seven weeks when prospective buyers can first arrive for a look.
14 weeks is still very much a baby, and you have a lot of the puppy fun/hard work ahead of you still.. and don't worry about bonding with your new dog – I've rescued dogs much much older, and established great relationships with them.

No, 14 weeks it not too old. It's actually perfect because he'll understand you more when training him and you will feel much more successful rather than getting frustrated if he doesn't get it right away. I got my puppy at 15 weeks old and I could not believe how fast he picked up on everything because I am so used to getting puppies at 8 weeks and things taking longer to process.

nope thats not to old were broght our dog at 6 mounths and she was fine

No.. most recommend 16 weeks – 6 months.. I suggest you do more research and find a reputable breeder to talk to

A 3 month old puppy is not old at all. I adopted a thirteen week old Dobermann and he was still very much a young and impressionable pup.

No thats not to old at all. 14 weeks is nothing.

Definitly not. I don't think that the breeders are spozed to sell them until they are 12 weeks anyway…. But I'm not sure.
Good luck with your Bichon! They are pretty dogs.
I have a white dog, so should you have any problems with tear-stains, please feel free to email me, I have a lot of suggestions.
