Do some research online, and contact the breeder to see if they have any recommendation of which product brand to go with.

    1) stainless steel course medium greyhound comb
    2) pin brush
    3) slicker brush
    4) grooming scissors
    5) tweezers
    6) toenail clippers
    7) clippers
    8) toothbrush and toothpaste
    9) styptic pencil

    Grooming Tool Uses

The pin brush and greyhound comb should be used in the daily bushing and coat care of your Bichon Frise. The brush removes any knots or mats that are beginning to form. The best position for your dog while brushing is laying on his or her side, for both their comfort and your convenience. After you have thoroughly brushed out the coat, switch to the comb and work it through the entire body. The hair should be brushed up and out from the skin.

While brushing, always be on the lookout for fleas and ticks. If you should find an attached tick, use the tweezers to remove it. There are several quality products available at your veterinarian to protect and care for your Bichon Frise. When used as directed, they can stave off possible diseases that could be transmitted by the pests.

The slicker brush is only used after bathing your Bichon, while drying. The scissors can be used to trim any excess hair growing between the pads of their feet. The toenail clippers are used to trim your pets nail. There are clippers made exclusively for a dogs nails. The styptic pencil is just in case you cut the nail a little too short and nick a vein. It will stop any bleeding.

The toothbrush and toothpaste are important for the care of your Bichon Frises teeth. Brushing your dogs teeth on a regular basis, at least once a week, will prevent tartar buildup. While it may not seem like much to be concerned about, more serious dental problems can present themselves. Gum disease strikes dogs just like humans.
