    Are Barking Collars Necessary?

If your dog barks a lot for no real reason, or your neighbors are annoyed by the endless “twilight barking” every night, you need to do something about your dog’s barking

    What Should You Do?

Figure out why your dog barks so much. Most excessive barking has a reason, sometimes it's people passing by, sometimes it's a health issue.;If you find out, then you probably won't need a barking collar for your pet.

If the reason for the barking is stress or anxiety, then a barking collar will only make it worse. Instead, try to focus on positive attitude and behavior. One thing that you can do is to expose your dog to the stimulus that scares it, like a big group of people, a running mottor, or the ring of a cellphone, while you are next to it and calm it down. You might even ask for advice or help from a professional dog handler.

    How Bark Collars Work

Some owners find that using a bark collar is effective in reducing excessive barking that isn't related to stress. Three different methods are available, as well as combinations of methods for even greater effectiveness.

The first one involves a spray of citrus smell when the dog barks. Some Bark collars even give the dog a warning “hiss” so that they can learn to avoid the smell entirely.

The next type of barking collars work by emitting a sound that is so high pitched that only dogs can hear it, and that is emitted every time the dog barks. The dog doesn’t like the sound; it becomes annoying or distracting and the dog will bark less often.

Lastly, electronic collars give a small electrical shock whenever the dog barks or when the owner uses a remote control. It doesn’t hurt the dog, but it can deter barking.

There are many methods to deter barking, but Barking Collars are some of the best. They come in citrus spray, sonic or ultrasonic emission, and electrical shock. You can safely select any of these three, as they are all harmless to your dog, yet very useful for dog training.

Bark collars are very good tools to help you reduce excessive barking. Just make sure that the barking isn't caused by stress, anxiety, or health issues. You can learn more about Barking Collars on the Internet or from a professional dog trainer.
